You rent out a room or a guest suite. The tenant is perfectly decent - just human. Lights burn all day, the air-conditioner cools an empty room, the water heater never goes off. You don't want to be the landlord sending a reminder every week, and the bill arrives regardless.

  • Occupancy sensing covers the let space only - no cameras, no monitoring of the person.
  • After a configurable period with nobody there, lights, air-conditioning and the heater shut down.

  • The dashboard shows the current and next prayer; private notifications go only to whoever wants them.

Smart lights that only ever get used as on and off

Most homes install tunable lighting, use it properly for a fortnight, and then settle back into two states - on, and off. The hardware is capable of far more; the house simply never asks.

  • Lights step down floor by floor and doors lock themselves.
  • Only the sensors that need to stay awake keep watching.

The problem

The room is hot when you get in, so the air-conditioner goes to 20°C. Six hours later it's an icebox, you wake up, you wake your partner up, and nobody sleeps properly.

What the home does

  • Rather than holding one temperature all night, the setpoint drifts upward in steps.
  • 22°C at bedtime, 23°C after midnight, 24°C by three, fan only before dawn.
  • The curve is tuned to the room and the sleeper, not copied from a default.
